FEASIBILITY STUDY – Kenneth B. Keating US Courthouse, Rochester, NY

Feasibility study for adding two new district courts comprised of 22,000-sq. ft. at an existing 1970s federal building. The study involved developing several options for adding court spaces within existing space, constructing additional space on top of the building, and five options for constructing and an addition to original building. The program also required that the addition be constructed in two phases to accommodate two additional district courts to provide a total of four new court suites by the year 2015. The study included schematic plans, elevations and sections of each option along with preliminary cost estimates. Options for integrating heating and cooling with the HVAC system in the existing building were also explored.
